Scheduler - Surgery - PN OBGYN-San Ramon - Full Time - 8 Hour - Days

Job Description:

The Scheduler-Surgery schedules procedures for the practice. He/She coordinates and schedules more complex surgical procedures that may happen outside of the PN clinic, partnering with ASC and Hospital or teams to schedule surgical procedures. These take place at multiple Outpatient Centers (ASC) as well as at JMH hospital locations. The Scheduler-Surgery is responsible for every component needed for these surgical procedures to happen such as: obtaining insurance authorizations, confirm appropriate authorizations have been received prior to scheduling, coordinating dates based on availability between block times, ASC availability, and Anesthesia availability. This position interacts and liaises with other departments to send/process information related to patient procedures and care, to the department and provider(s) as necessary; provides patient education and instructions, and assists with administrative duties as needed.

Education:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent - Preferred

Experience:

• 1 year Specialty practice experience required with authorization/scheduling experience - Required

Additional Experience Requirements:

• Experience in templating and managing physician schedules.

Skills:

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Excellent team player, including the ability to work cross functionally cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to use standard office equipment including fax, copier, printer, telephone (voicemail), and email systems.

• Ability to possess the visual capacity and hearing to monitor and use telephone equipment.

• Demonstrates ability to navigate computer system for obtaining patient and financial information and reading emails.

• Ability to hand write documentation or to manipulate computer keyboard for documentation input. Must be proficient in computer databases and desktop programs.

• Proficient in obtaining and organizing information independently and efficiently.

• Strong analytical, management, planning, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.

• Excellent customer service and time management and organizational skills are required.

• Knowledge of insurance plan payment practices and billing requirements.

• Knowledge of insurance health plans, coverage and authorization process preferred.

Work Shift:

08.0 - 08:00 - 17:00 No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$28.91 - $39.03

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
