This is a part-time position requiring weekend availability. This position is eligible for discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, DailyPay, hotel and restaurant discounts and more.
SUMMARY:
Serves guests at the Bistro bar with knowledge of liquor, wine, and beer, following Marriott drink and QA standards. Creates a teamwork environment and delivers quality, friendly service to every guest.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Engages guests, answers beverage questions, and recognizes/responds when a guest should no longer be served
-Sets up and breaks down the Bistro per daily checklists; knows all menu items and ingredients
-Follows QA and Health Department standards, including temp logs and product rotation (FIFO)
-Supports servers and teammates to keep the Bistro running smoothly
-Reports to work on time, in complete uniform, and follows attendance and safety policies
-Handles phone/room service orders accurately and delivers per QA guidelines
-Looks for ways to reduce waste, control costs, and suggestively sell to guests
-Keeps work areas clean and organized; completes TIPS training and cards guests who appear under 40
REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Strong guest service and communication skills; comfortable engaging strangers
-Ability to read and follow safety, operating, and procedure instructions
-Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages)
-Ability to problem-solve and adapt to varying guest and operational situations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-High school diploma or GED
-Some restaurant or bar experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Regularly stands, walks, talks, and hears; occasionally sits, stoops, kneels, or crouches
-Frequently uses hands/arms to handle objects and reach
-Occasionally lifts/moves up to 40 lbs
-Close, distance, and peripheral vision required
