THE ROLEWe are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team, building services that power Farfetch's Platform.You will work in a very relaxed environment and be part of a well-motivated, and growing team of 4 to 6 engineers,working towards delivering the best software components for one of the platform business domains. You'll report to the Engineering Lead.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Create and maintain a set of micro-services that seamlessly integrate with internal processes and existing systems.
• Contribute the architecture design of both new and existing systems, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure the delivery of high-quality software, taking into account factors such as scalability, availability, maintainability, and resilience.
• Work with a modern technology stack, including C# for application development, Kafka for event streaming, Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration, REST APIs for communication, and NoSQL Databases such as MongoDB and Redis for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Foster personal and professional growth as a software engineer, keeping up-to-date with industry trends, exploring new technologies, and continuously improving skills and knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD methodologies and tools, especially Jenkins

WHO YOU ARE

• Experienced in using object-oriented programming languages;
• Passionate for building software, focusing on quality and using best practices;
• Advocate usage of tests with especial focus on automation;
• Knowledgeable of micro-services architecture and its characteristics;
• Someone who wants to work in a collaborative and agile environment;
• Experienced with relational and non-relational databases;
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
