MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
A high school diploma and four years relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services; or a bachelor's degree and two years experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.
Job Duties:
30% Serve as the department expert and main point of contract for Cosmetic Dermatology scheduling. Independently perform secretarial and administrative duties with the ability to handle all routine situations with expertise. Collaborates and interacts with faculty, colleagues, and patients on a daily basis. Routinely review the physicians’ schedules and recognize potential problems with minimal supervisor assistance.
25% Provide administrative support for department physicians. Maintain and coordinate schedules for physicians and arrange meetings, process clinic cancellations, schedule appointments and communicate with all staff members regarding physician availability and their schedule. Respond to requests in in basket from physicians and/or staff members in a timely manner.
20% Schedule administrative appointments and meetings for the Department Chair and maintain his calendar to correlate with his clinic schedule. Collaborate with other administrators/coordinators and support personnel on a regular basis. Organize and prioritize responsibilities to determine the order of importance. Facilitate phone calls, handle all correspondence to include picking up and sorting mail, completing forms, scheduling depositions, maintaining databases, preparing slides for presentation, and assisting with manuscripts as needed.
15% Provide back up assistance for other administrative staff in scheduling and administrative duties. Routinely check the department fax and right fax. Scan and upload referrals and all necessary documents in Solarity as needed.
10% Attend departmental meetings and MUSCP/University sponsored meetings/events or training sessions when necess
