Description
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional lifting of 12 lb cases to bring to shipping department to send out samples. Dolly is available for transfer of multiple cases.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient knowledge required in the use of a personal computer.
- Proficient knowledge required in the use of Word.
- Intermediate knowledge required in the use of Excel.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Individual will be required to be in contact with fellow employees at all different levels, including those in management.
- Individual required to work well with fellow employees in various departments to process orders and managing issues that may arise with orders.
- Represents Compact Industries in a professional manner when dealing with vendors and customers.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Previous two or more years of Customer Service preferred
Requirements
PURPOSE:
Provide communicative, supportive care to our customers, internal and external.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily:
- Check and respond to voice mail and e-mails in a timely manner.
- Receive and enter sales orders throughout the day, as they arrive at Compact.
- Check inventory on Syspro for items needed to complete shipments.
- Check the shipping paperwork from the previous day in Syspro - Making sure the sales order matches the BOL, and all items have been dispatched.
- Arrange shipments for customer
- Contact carriers for same-day POD receipts
- Upload POD receipts to customer
- Contact customers via e-mail, fax or telephone when order is received, if it may be short, and to provide a ship date.
- Review the daily production schedule to evaluate order shipment dates.
- Investigate any calls or emails that come in throughout the day regarding questions on past orders that may have shipped incorrectly, shortages, damages, etc..
- Enter orders for case samples to be sent to new or existing customers for Sales Department.
- Provide appropriate paperwork to the Shipping department for finished good shipments.
- Manage customer-owned materials and slow-moving materials.
- Attend daily production meetings.
- Review the QA “on hold” report.
- Review and Expedite past-due orders
- Other duties as assigned.
Occasional, Infrequent:
- Prepare export documents such as COA’s, NAFTA, Commercial Invoice.
- Contact freight companies when issue with a shipment.
- Attend slow-moving materials meeting, hold meetings, etc.
- Prepare and review reports as assigned.
