Nuro exists to better everyday life through robotics. Founded in 2016, Nuro is a leading autonomous technology company with vehicles on road today in California and Texas. The company’s core technology is the Nuro Driver, an integrated autonomous driving system consisting of state-of-the-art, AI-first software and custom-built sense and compute hardware. The first commercial application of the Nuro Driver is autonomous goods delivery with our custom, electric, zero-occupant vehicles in partnership with some of the most recognized brands in the world including Uber and FedEx.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled engineer to help build and maintain our connectivity layer and associated services between our fleet of bots and the cloud infrastructure. Our team, Fleet connectivity, builds the infrastructure to connect and update Nuro’s fleets. Our engineers work on the tech stack across the cloud and robots to build reliable, efficient systems for network connectivity, telemetry, and software updates, which is essential to the advancement and scale up of our AV vision.

About the Work:

  • Own the observability, security, and reliability of cellular network components, and network software, during robot start up and operation.
  • Work cross functionally with upstream and downstream stakeholder teams to define system requirements, implement connectivity strategies, and technical solutions.
  • Lead connectivity software efforts on Nuro’s next-gen platforms
  • Build analysis tools and dashboards to capture, identify, track, and measure connectivity trends from operational data.
  • Develop automation frameworks and programs to ensure the performance of wireless components.
  • Provide design guidance and technical mentorship for junior engineers.

About You: 

  • Strong proficiency in C++, Go, Python, or similar languages
  • Ability to turn high-level requirements into a detailed, cohesive system design
  • Familiarity with debugging and tooling of cellular modems.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer science, or related technical field

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $167,000 and $250,000 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
