Welcome to European Road distribution
You will be joining the European Groupage Network team to head our brand-new distribution team, which is tasked with transforming and optimising our existing distribution network. We are still in the process of growing and setting up the team, which currently includes you and one more colleague.
Joining us, you become part of a great collaborative environment across the larger team. The European Groupage Network team is based at the DSV headquarters in Hedehusene, Denmark. However, you are not required to be based here, as we offer a hybrid work environment where many of your new colleagues work from DSV offices in Germany and the Netherlands.

Develop and standardise across our distribution network
As Senior Manager for the Distribution European Groupage Network, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies and standards for the transport network. Just as you will ensure that our customers' shipments are delivered on time and in accordance with applicable laws and quality standards.
You will manage and build your team, supporting them in their daily tasks. The team's current member is focused on designing and developing DSV’s European distribution, with a focus on optimising performance and utilisation of the network and external partners for 1st and Last mile.
As your team and the role evolve, you will also eventually delve into sustainability and routing optimisation as well as identify avenues for more efficient and sustainable routes.
The main focus areas for you and your team will be to:
- Develop and implement transport strategies for optimal goods distribution across Europe
- Monitor and coordinate the transport network to ensure timely shipments and performance enhancement
- Utilise the digital network twin to identify and implement workflow process improvements, increasing efficiency and reducing costs
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards in transport and distribution
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for an optimal European Groupage network
- Implement change management/communication for process and standards development
- This job will take you travelling up to 30 days per year.
Solid leadership skills, process understanding and logistics experience
As a seasoned professional, you bring solid leadership skills and the ability to motivate, develop, and lead your team. And of course, you have a profound knowledge of European transport networks and distribution systems.
Moreover, you not only know how to analyse complex data, but you can also identify opportunities for process improvements, and you have proven your ability to meet set goals within schedule and budget constraints.
Also, we expect you to:
- Possess 5+ years of extensive experience in the transport and logistics industry and expert knowledge of distribution in a European Transport Network with a 100 terminals
- Hold a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Have in-depth knowledge of transport and logistics systems, including experience with the use of IT systems (TMS) and optimisation operation tools
- Have experience in developing and implementing transport strategies and optimising processes
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in transport and distribution
- Have hands-on experience in managing haulier/partner development, agreements and contracts, including SOPs and SLAs
- Speak and write English effortlessly
