The Senior Buyer manages the purchasing and sourcing processes to ensure the best pricing and availability of material and services to support the company’s needs and demands.

Role Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for purchasing materials and supplies from vendors and executing buying strategies. Develop buying plans in collaboration with category managers and business stakeholders.
  • Monitors day to day supplier performance, addresses customer issues, and acts as a liaison between suppliers, Commodity Managers and internal customers in problem resolution.
  • Creating purchase orders and executing bid requests.
  • Evaluating and analyzing supplier quotes, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing cost reduction strategies.
  • Approving requisitions and monitoring invoices for variances and suppliers for performance.
  • Maintaining and ensuring that lead times, costs, order multiples/minimums are accurate.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, conducting market research to find the best sources for required goods and services.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, addressing concerns, and ensuring consistent quality and delivery.
  • Resolving supplier issues or concerns within a timely manner.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is provided by suppliers and that all purchasing activities adhere to established policies and procedures as required.
  • Revising process documents (SOP’s and desk guides) and providing training for internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities in support of Company business goals.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior buyers, overseeing the overall procurement function within a specific category.
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as required.

Role Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of purchasing experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • High level financial understanding and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team settings.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including spend analysis and negotiation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Suites.
  • Team player, strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, and dependability.
  • Fluency in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese is preferred, but not required.

Salary 

The base salary range is $70,200 – 90,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
