Seeking a remote GitLab Administrator to join our team focused on delivering cloud solutions for NOAA's National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS) . The successful candidate will provide technical expertise on GitLab, AWS, Kubernetes, and related DevOps technologies.
Your responsibilities will include all aspects of containerized deployments, including deployment, configuration, scaling upgrades, and optimization. You will also be pivotal in the development and maintenance of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.

Requirements
Operate as a Linux Systems Admin and maintain NOAA's GitLab infrastructure platform through tasks such as installation, configuration, patching, updating, and security implementation in a virtual machine environment.
Serve as a point of contact for all related questions, issues, and concerns for GitLab tool and related services.
Qualifications for a GitLab Administrator:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math discipline with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with GitLab Administration for the Principal GitLab Administrator role, and a minimum of 5 years for the Senior Principal GitLab Administrator role.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Active CompTIA Security+, CASP, or CISSP certification.
- Expertise in configuring/maintaining GitLab (backup, restore, upgrade, security settings, etc.)
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence tools.
- Knowledgeable in development and maintenance of CI/CD Pipelines.
- Experience using trouble ticket system.
- Experience with Linux Operating System.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing automation techniques that improve deployment speed and service reliability in the containerized environment.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Ruby for automation tasks.
- Experience working in an Agile environment/working knowledge of Agile principles and practices.
- Experience with OCI-compliant container technology and tools (Docker, Podman, etc.)
