Location Details: 

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.​

This is an in-office position and you’ll be expected to work full-time in an office location, and therefore must live within commuting distance from your assigned office. You will work from this office beginning on your first day.  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join us in building the hardware development and operations team. As a valued professional with our team, you will make meaningful contributions to the company’s innovation and growth by experimenting, defining, developing, and delivering hardware commerce solutions.

What you'll get to do…

  • Help build a world-class team of hardware engineers dedicated to the development of electronics hardware for omni-commerce products and solutions.
  • Align with cross-functional integration efforts with Product and Program Office, Marketing and Branding, OS, HW, Fulfillment, Repair, Care, Certifications, Compliance, and overseas partners to ensure full coverage of criteria and expectations.
  • Develop best practices for hardware sustaining, program planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, change management, and variance recovery.
  • Drive best practices within the team and contribute to socialization processes across the company.
  • Conduct reviews on architecture, design intent, component specification, analysis, and validation plans to ensure high-quality work.
  • Drive hardware sustaining, delivery, and development of on-time, reliable, and high-quality hardware solutions in support of our program and mission.
  • Proactively identify, prioritize, and drive resolution to hardware issues
  • Perform hardware RMA FA and provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Manage ORT and fine-tuning test requirements.
  • Provide technical support to Global repair centers.
  • Work with the repair manager to analyze field failures, generate reports, and drive corrective actions.

Your experience should include…

  • 7+ years of technical experience in complex high-volume consumer electronics hardware systems from concept to mass production.
  • Experience in design, sourcing, tooling NPI, quality, compliance, MP, fulfillment.
  • Strong knowledge of design fundamentals and experience fulfilling demand for high-quality and reliable electronic hardware systems.
  • Experience developing schematics and managing layouts.
  • Experience in bringing up, debugging, functional verification, and signal characterization.
  • Orcad and Allegro fluency.
  • Proficient in bug tracking and issue resolution.
  • Experience in POS, smartphone, tablet computer architecture, processor selection, various communication protocols (e.g. LPDDR, eMMC, MIPI, USB, SPI, I2C, I2S, UART), analog design and analysis, audio system design and measurement, display/touch design and integration, sensor design and integration, and low power circuit design.
  • Experience in battery charger design, Bluetooth, LAN, and Cellular radio integration.
  • Knowledgeable in production control processes, data analysis/interpretation, GR&R, Cp/Cpk, and correlation analysis.
  • Experience with computer architecture, C / C++, Python, UNIX shell, and Android SDK.
  • Experience and abilities with test automation and writing test scripts.
  • Statistical data analysis to provide risk assessments of a design.
  • Application of DOE (design of Experiments).
  • Application of FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
  • Ability to use fundamental failure analysis methodology to derive a root cause of failure.
