The Renaissance School of Medicine, Stony Brook University, Department of Anesthesiology is recruiting for an Anesthesiologist with a Fellowship in Regional Anesthesia.

Academic and Clinical Excellence

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team dedicated to innovation in regional anesthesia, perioperative medicine, and acute pain management. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing anesthesia care for a diverse and complex surgical population.
  • Main focus will be performing regional anesthesia procedures, Acute Pain Service, and Orthopedic Anesthesia.
  • Participating in the acute pain calls. 
  • Teaching and mentoring medical students, anesthesiology residents.
  • Opportunities to develop programmatic, educational, and research initiatives within regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine.

The Department of Anesthesiology provides care across operating rooms, numerous non-operating room anesthesia locations, a high-volume obstetric anesthesia service, and several ambulatory surgery centers. Faculty enjoy exposure to a diverse and complex case mix, including trauma, cardiac, neurosurgical, transplant, orthopedic, vascular, pediatric, and obstetric patients.

General Responsibilities:

The candidate will provide anesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery or other procedures and will provide consultation before and after the anesthetic procedure. Perform regional anesthesia and be part of the acute pain services team. The candidate will be actively engaged in the instruction and/or supervision of medical students, resident physicians and certified registered nurse anesthetists.

The Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Service is a high-volume, academically focused program that provides 24/7 consultative and clinical coverage.
