What you'll do...

Our Merchandising Transformation team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director,  Merchandising Transformation to set strategy and drive results to meet our goals of revolutionizing our tools and approaches. This role will provide expertise and act as a subject matter expert to set the vision, guide the process and technology innovation, and ensure successful implementation of our new capabilities throughout our merchandising team.  

What you’ll do… 

  • Build and implement analytical and automation tools and capabilities that enable us to better place items within our stores, and on our shelves, at great prices, with the right inventory
  • Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships with product, data science, engineering and modular teams to maximize the achievement results 
  • Create data-driven solutions to complex merchandising problems that simplify the work needed 
  • Drive continuous improvements to our assortment, pricing, financial, and inventory processes, guiding and supervising the adoption of new technology, and support digital disruption in line with Walmart’s business model  
  • Deliver expected business results while putting the customer first and consistently applying an omni-merchant mindset, and the EDLP and EDLC business models to all plans and initiatives  
  • Support strategies and drive initiatives that attract and retain diverse and inclusive talent; build high-performing teams, and actively support diversity goal programs  
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with team members and business partners; work collaboratively and cross-functionally to achieve objectives, and communicate with energy and positivity to motivate, influence, and inspire commitment and action  

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you have… 

  • Proven experience in automation, advanced analytics, and algorithm development 
  • Strong knowledge of retail industry trends, and AI & automation strategies 
  • Experience delivering step-wise changes in business performance with novel ideas
  • Broad perspective that can set clear end-to-end vision, coupled with the ability to dive-deep to form realistic tactics 
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams 
  • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on servant leadership, embracing change, and strategic thinking
