About the role

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Transport Nurse to work alongside our PICU Department. 

 

The transport nurse is a registered professional nurse who is accountable for using the nursing process, critical thinking, evidence based practice (EBP) consulting with other members of the health care team both interfacility and interfacility. They are accountable for optimal patient care and management during inter-hospital and intra-hospital transport for patients from infancy to 21 years of age.  The transport nurse is also accountable for supervision of others, delegating patient care tasks, and serving as a primary resource for clinical education and competencies on the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.  The transport nurse is responsible for quality improvement, education of the team, coordination of community outreach, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • ASN/Diploma in Nursing required, BSN preferred. 
  • Current license in West Virginia required. 
  • Maintains required CEU’s for licensure required. 
  • Peds CCRN or Certified Flight RN within 1 year required. 
  • AHA BLS required. 
  • ACLS required. ACLS Instructor preferred. 
  • PALS required, PALS Instructor within 1 year required. 
  • Point of Care Lab Licensure required. 
  • NRP or S.T.A.B.L.E. within 1 year required. 
  • SANE Training within 1 year preferred. 
  • One year in direct critical and intensive practice in PICU or transport related field required, 2+ years preferred.
