What you'll do...
As a Manager, Building Automation Engineer in the Critical Infrastructure and Campus Engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring an efficient and cost-effective operation of Walmart's state-of-the-art 350-acre Home Office campus and the overall corporate real estate portfolio in North America.
You will be responsible for leading a team to manage, monitor, and maintain our building automation systems (BAS) and smart building technologies, providing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communicating and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and implementing solutions to complex problems while maintaining a focus on the associate’s workplace experience and minimizing operational costs.

About the team
The Critical Infrastructure and Campus Engineering team run the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), energy, sustainability, building controls, fiber optics, and low-voltage cabling operations as part of the Corporate Real Estate -Campus Operations (CRECO) team.

What you’ll do:
Be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining multiple building automation systems (BAS) and smart building technologies platforms from a central utility plant (CUP), overseeing the automated control of critical HVAC, electrical, and water systems to ensure efficient energy usage and optimal CUP and buildings operation.
Monitor the CUP and buildings equipment performance through the BAS, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
Adjust control parameters as needed to maintain optimal CUP and buildings efficiency and comfort levels.
Analyze energy consumption data to optimize the CUP and buildings operation and identify energy saving opportunities.
Manage vendors to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions within the BAS, including hardware and software issues and to perform preventative maintenance on BAS components to ensure system reliability.
Generate reports on the CUP and buildings performance metrics such as energy consumption, equipment run-time, and system alarms.
Analyze data to identify trends and implement necessary adjustments to improve the CUP and buildings efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize customer needs and business priorities.
What you’ll bring:
Advanced knowledge of building automation and controls systems, including but not limited to programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance for HVAC, Refrigeration, and Lighting Systems.
Experience with central utility plant equipment including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and electrical distribution systems.
Knowledge of HVAC principles, building codes, and energy conservation strategies.
Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives, and the ability to identify opportunities for energy reductions and cost savings.
