HII - Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced and innovative Industrial IoT & Robotics Lead to drive the integration of advanced IoT technologies and robotics into our industrial operations. This position can be based out of the Washington D.C., Virginia Beach, VA area or remote. This role is critical in leading the digital transformation of our manufacturing and operational processes, enhancing efficiency, productivity, and safety through cutting-edge technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, IoT, robotics, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the implementation of Industrial IoT (IIoT) and robotics across the organization, aligned with business objectives.
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and deployment of IoT and robotics solutions that optimize manufacturing processes, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency.
- Serve as the key technical leader, providing guidance and mentorship to engineering teams focused on IoT and robotics projects.
Technology Integration & Implementation:
- Design and oversee the integration of IoT sensors, devices, and robotics systems into existing manufacturing infrastructure, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow.
- Lead the deployment of automation and robotic systems for various industrial applications, from material handling to production line automation.
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure that IoT data is securely collected, processed, and utilized in analytics and machine learning models.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay at the forefront of IIoT and robotics technologies, identifying and assessing new solutions that can drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Continuously evaluate and improve deployed systems, identifying opportunities for further automation, energy efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Lead the development of digital twins and other advanced simulation tools to optimize production processes and anticipate maintenance needs.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement:
- Work closely with operations, manufacturing, and maintenance teams to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for IoT and robotics applications.
- Coordinate with vendors and external partners to source and implement the best IoT and robotics solutions for the company’s specific needs.
- Ensure that all projects meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Utilize IoT data to develop insights and drive data-driven decision-making across operations, enabling predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, and process optimization.
- Implement and manage analytics platforms that provide actionable insights from IoT data streams, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What you need to have:
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, IoT, robotics, or related fields, with a strong background in deploying and managing large-scale automation projects.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams
