About the Team
The Payment, Identity and Integrity (PII) organization is the financial backbone of Lyft, powering essential e-commerce systems that serve our diverse customer ecosystem including riders, drivers, micromobility users, and B2B partners. We:
- Manage billions of dollars in payment transactions across multiple countries
- Combat identity theft and financial fraud to protect our users
- Oversee 20+ strategic partnerships to optimize costs while driving growth
- Build payment, identity and integrity products for our customers that directly drive ride volume
We're seeking an exceptional Senior Strategic Partnership Manager to craft and execute world-class, customer-centric payment strategies. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with creative problem-solving, strategic vision, and analytical precision. Success in this role requires outstanding collaboration skills, customer-focused thinking, and the ability to thrive in our dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify emerging payment trends and innovations to incorporate into Lyft's roadmap
- Develop and implement comprehensive payment strategies aligned with business objectives while enhancing customer experience
- Provide metrics and reporting on payment product performance to executive leadership
- Build and nurture strategic partner relationships, serving as the primary liaison between partners and Lyft's internal teams
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with potential new partners to strengthen our payment ecosystem
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for payment processing, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams on API integrations and data processes with external vendors
- Lead the development of technical documentation for partnership initiatives
- Drive collaboration across product, engineering, finance, and tax teams to execute strategic payment initiatives
- Lead and motivate cross-departmental teams to achieve organizational objectives
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in partnerships, product management, or consulting within the payments industry
- 4+ years in management consulting, strategy operations, or program management within high-growth technology, fintech, payments, or ridesharing sectors
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL for data-driven performance measurement and analysis
- Strong record of cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management
- Deep understanding of payment processing systems, payment methods, routing, and industry regulations
- Comprehensive knowledge of emerging payment trends and innovations
- Ability to translate complex technical and financial concepts for diverse audiences
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills with experience presenting to executive leadership
- Exceptional organizational abilities with demonstrated success managing competing priorities
- Strategic thinking with a customer-centric approach to problem-solving
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with changing priorities
- Preferred:
- MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced certification
- Experience with international payment systems and regulations
- Knowledge of identity verification and fraud prevention technologies
