Job Description:
Job Family Definition:
Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in product area(s) to meet production, quality, cost and predictability goals for production sites. Responsible for performing varied and general tasks involved in the manufacturing process. These tasks may include, but are not limited to at the non-exempt level, basic manufacturing assembly; installation or processing of components, subsystems or systems; operation of basic hand tools and assigned production or manufacturing machinery; compiling data for reports; work may be internal and possibly external to the company. At the exempt level, may be responsible for customer design and software utilization.
Management Level Definition:
Applies specialized subject matter knowledge to solve moderately complex issues within established guidelines. Typically supervises lower-level supervisors and/or highly-skilled non-exempt individual contributors in single functional area. Responsible for the supervision of activities and resources needed to support the day-to-day efforts of the department and to achieve the business plan. Provides general supervision to lower level supervisors and direct supervision to highly-skilled non-exempt employees. Provides direction and expertise to departmental teams and participates in cross-department initiatives. Acts as a point of escalation for subordinate employees as well as supervisors. Does not require day-to-day supervision, and has the ability to handle most unique situations. May need advice in order to make decision on complex business issues.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for manufacturing and remanufacturing activities for multiple product lines, ensuring that performance (inventory, cost, etc.) meets regional or global and business requirements.
- Manages a team of higher level non- exempt individual contributors who typically support a moderately complex daily work activities.
- Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
- Ensures the delivery of products and services that meet the performance metrics defined by next level management.
- Manages essential business critical process documents (i.e. Standard operating procedures, Statements of Work, Business Score CardDashboard, etc).
- Looking at trends, takes business to next level, e.g., chairs meetings and Lean Sigma analysis.
- Responsible for projects and group initiatives.
Education and Experience Required:
- First level university degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically 4+ years of experience in an operations function.
- Typically 1+ years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of factory floor, material or warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication skills (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.
- Knowledgeable of country specific legislative and regulatory compliance (e.g., import and export regulations; trade restrictions, EH&S).
- Utilizes the expertise of others as necessary
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytics and data modelling skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong people management skills, including managing teams within scope of responsibility as well as outside sphere of direct control.
- Influencing skills (e.g. improving the day-to-day performance of internal partners and/or 3rd party partners).
- Basic understanding of Lean Sigma methodology.
