Contract position

Seeking strong network engineer to augment client networking project.  Working with Riverbed’s Modeler (OPNET) product and other tools you will solve client’s networking operational and design issues.

  • Perform engineering analyses to predict and define problems, define/design actionable corrective measures, and operational implementation.
  • Serve as an expert in network architecture, network simulation testing, and/or networking and application performance
  • Analyze and understand customer’s IT organization, requirements and processes, and use this knowledge to assist in achieving full adoption and utilization of client’s solutions to maximize ROI and business value
  • Produce solutions to fulfill customer needs within budget and schedule constraints
  • Work directly with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with Riverbed Modeler (OPNET Modeler) software (explained in Resume) preferred
  • Must be well versed in network programming and scripting (C, C++, Python)
  • Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulations and testing preferred
  • Preferred experience with wireless and satellite networking
  • Strong network engineering skills including experience with cloud technologies, data center networks, network and security systems and protocols
  • Strong understanding of network design, protocols, components, and operations; multi-tier application architectures; and wireless/satellite communications
  • Demonstrated experience with tools for network performance testing, protocol analyzers, WireShark, NetFlow and/or packet analysis

Qualifications

  • This is a Remote role requiring occasional travel to client sites
  • BS/MS degree in a technical field, or equivalent military or career experience
  • Experience in professional services, technical consulting, or network engineering/operations preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, drive IT projects forward in large organizations, and translate technical features into tangible customer business benefits
  • Self-motivated and capable of high performance under minimal supervision
  • Excellent business writing and presentation skills
  • Professionalism appropriate for working with Fortune 500 clients
  • Passion for teamwork and contributing to a world-class Professional Services team which values excellence, execution, and integrity
