Staff Nurse (RN), HIV

Job Description:

The HIV Nurse will provide direct care and case management/adherence services to HIV+ patients receiving care at the Adult Medical Clinic with a focus of ensuring quality patient care. This position will also work with the Director of HIV Medical care on task related to Quality Assurance (QA) issues.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Provide medical case management and coordination of medical care issues for HIV+ individuals enrolled in Adult Medical Clinic; work closely with primary providers, and social service supports; provide medical support including triage, injections, and other medical procedures as needed.
• Supervise HIV patient flow within the Adult Medical clinic, provide medication call ins, and triage other patient issues as required.
• Supervise adherence program including: provide direct supervision to patients on issues of adherence; supervise peers providing Adherence support
• Provides extensive HIV related education, positive prevention messages, implements risk/harm reduction strategies
• Conduct quality assurance (QA) projects; participate on Quality Assurance committee, and other duties as required.
• Provide weekly support group for HIV + patients in community care deparment
• Promote and coordinate research initiatives and study protocols
• Timely and thorough reporting to local, state and federal government funding agencies and private contributors
• Perform other duties as required by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a nurse in a community setting preferred.
• Familiarity with population served.
• Bilingual/Bicultural a plus

Salary: $56,000 - $71,000
