About the role
We are seeking a Senior Director, Benefits & Wellbeing to serve as a subject matter expert and partner with Bounteous leadership to provide best-in-class global benefits, retirement, and wellbeing programming to our team members. A successful candidate has experience strategizing and managing the allocation of team benefits, retirement, and wellbeing programs for a fast-paced, rapidly-scaling, globally-dispersed company.
Key areas of management include annual budgeting, open enrollment, annual go-to-market analyses, vendor relationships, compliance and reporting, carrier feed oversight, benefits and wellbeing education, leave management, and benefits and retirement integration for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
This role is critical to Bounteous’ next phase of growth as we continue to scale the company’s benefits programs globally. The Senior Director, Benefits & Wellbeing reports to the Chief People Officer.

Role and Responsibilities
- Manage a global team responsible for day-to-day benefits, retirement, and wellbeing programming
- Work with Talent & Culture (T&C), Finance, and Operations leadership to budget for and recommend Bounteous’ global benefits, retirement, wellbeing strategies, and programming
- Regularly monitor external trends to proactively adjust our benefits strategies to stay competitive in the market; recommend revisions to lead best-in-class offerings
- Build employee-centric benefits and wellbeing programs while balancing business goals and financial boundaries; dashboard, report, and influence decision-making based on key performance metrics
- Manage retirement plans; partner with local country-based vendors to ensure compliance
- Develop strategies to drive team member awareness and understanding of all benefit programs; drive company-wide training on annual benefits offerings
- Partner with People Experience (HR) to educate, inform, and ensure a seamless delivery of benefits and well-being throughout the employee lifecycle
- Serve as a key benefits, retirement, and wellbeing subject matter expert for all M&A activities; lead out-of-cycle acquisitions, integrations, and due diligence; partner with benefits brokers to hold mini-open enrollments
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of global benefits leadership expertise, including ownership of benefits, retirement, and wellbeing agendas
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in business administration, management, economics, human resources, or related field
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (GBA and/or RPA) or Certified Benefits Professional credential preferred
- An organizational leader with deep business acumen, including expertise collaborating with an international team of business partners, external vendors, and consultants
- Strong track record developing and executing highly effective, transparent, and efficient benefits and wellbeing management processes, tools, metrics, and practices
- World-class presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to train teams, manage change, and report on performance
- Demonstrated leadership prioritizing key objectives in a technical, fast-moving environment while managing daily tactical requirements relevant to attracting, motivating, and retaining team members
- Experience with global M&A due diligence and integration, preferably within a private equity context
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable preparing and presenting budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Win-win conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively and work collaboratively
- Familiarity with digital marketing and/or creative agency experience a plus
- Canada, LATAM, EMEA, and/or APAC experience a plus
- Experience utilizing HRIS to streamline benefit-related data and reporting; Namely and/or Workday experience a plus
