On Call Infant/Toddler Teacher

About the role

The Early Head Start Teacher works with infant/toddlers to promote children's growth in the areas of social-emotional, physical, cognitive and language development in an age appropriate manner. The teacher will be expected to provide continuity of care for children and build nurturing, protective, stable, and consistent relationships. Partners with families in every aspect of their child's growth and development through daily communication and regular home visits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood programs.
  • Infant/toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education with infant/toddler coursework or Certificate of Completion from an accredited college in Infant Toddler Early Childhood Education.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATION

  • Enrollment in the Child Care Division Central Background Registry.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and insured vehicle available for use on the job with satisfactory drive record for the past three years, or acceptable alternative.
  • Must obtain Infant/Toddler First Aid/CPR certification and Food Handler's Card within 30 days of hire.
