Role Mission

To build and optimize a national service vendor network that delivers excellent service quality while maintaining exceptional standards across Sunnova's growing portfolio of O&M and C&I operations.

Role Scope

The Senior Manager of Vendor Management oversees end-to-end vendor relationship management in partnership with Procurement, from partner selection through continuous performance monitoring and optimization. This position will build and lead the vendor management team, develop and implement vendor programs, and manage multi-regional vendor networks. The role requires managing relationships with operations, finance, legal, safety, and risk management stakeholders.

Role Expected Success Outcomes

  1. Vendor Network Development: A robust national service vendor network is established and scaled successfully, maintaining service quality above industry standards while optimizing costs.
  2. Performance Management: Comprehensive vendor performance monitoring system is implemented, with real-time metrics tracking, regular reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives driving service excellence.
  3. Program Development: Strategic vendor management programs and frameworks are created and operationalized, including clear decision criteria for resource allocation between internal and external capabilities.
  4. Stakeholder Alignment: Strong cross-functional partnerships are maintained with Operations, Finance, Legal, Safety and Risk Management, ensuring aligned objectives and effective vendor program execution.
  5. Quality Assurance: Service level agreements and performance standards are established and maintained, with rapid response protocols for service quality issues and effective vendor communication channels.
  6. Team Development: A high-performing vendor management team is built and developed, with clear processes, programs and accountability measures in place.

First Year Success Outcomes

30 Days:

  • Complete comprehensive assessment of current vendor network, programs, and performance metrics
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Legal, and Risk Management
  • Develop deep understanding of service delivery model and vendor management objectives

60 Days:

  • Present strategic roadmap for vendor network development and program implementation
  • Begin implementing performance monitoring and vendor scorecard system
  • Identify and initiate critical process improvements for vendor management

90 Days:

  • Launch enhanced vendor performance management program
  • Establish service level agreements and quality standards
  • Begin developing resource allocation frameworks and decision criteria

120 Days:

  • Implement vendor review processes and improvement initiatives
  • Establish vendor communication and escalation protocols
  • Begin building vendor management team structure

180 Days:

  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in vendor performance metrics
  • Complete implementation of vendor scorecard system
  • Show progress on cost optimization while maintaining quality standards

1 Year:

  • Fully operational vendor management program delivering measurable value
  • High-performing vendor network meeting or exceeding service standards
  • Established team structure with clear processes and accountability
  • Demonstrated cost savings while maintaining service excellence

Role Critical Experiences

  1. 15+ years progressive experience in vendor management, with demonstrated success scaling vendor programs in service operations
  2. Track record of developing and implementing vendor performance management systems and analytics platforms
  3. Experience building and leading teams responsible for large-scale
