PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1.  Perform various assigned duties having to do with the preparation, expediting and dispatching of shipments and the receiving and checking of raw materials, purchased stock, supplies and equipment.
  2.  Assist outside drivers with receiving and shipping of materials.
  3.  Check products to be shipped against shipping order to insure proper amounts, identification and correct materials.
  4.  Visually inspect goods received for damage from handling and transit and report necessary information to Team Lead or designee.
  5.  Assist in the proper storage of purchased and manufactured items such as stock parts, assemblies, components, etc.
  6.  Work from shipping orders, shipping instructions, regulations, purchase orders and receiving slips.
  7.  Check carton seal and banding to insure travel quality.
  8.  Operate hand truck and motorized fork lift to move and position materials from one location to another.
  9. Perform general work assignments as directed by Team Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to be successful in this role

  • Ability to push, pull, lift with two hands, and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis is required.
  • Ability to enter and exit fork truck, and walk up and down stairs required.
  • Two years of high school required; high school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 6 months – 1 year of experience within a shipping and receiving, or material handling role.

  • Daily work may include sitting, bending, standing, crouching, reaching, and some lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Environment includes loud sounds related to production of metal products, flashing lights and at times, warmer or cooler than normal temperatures.
  • Shipping & Receiving employees often ar required to be out doors when greeting carriers, or moving product/equipment.
