Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for understanding the overall business segment strategy and interpreting the impact and requirements into the segment supply strategy and the overall corporate sourcing strategy. In addition, this position is responsible for implementation of business segment supply chain management and new product introduction (NPI) processes that support the business and the enterprise to achieve top-level, on-time delivery, world-class quality, material cost reduction and flawless production launch objectives. The position has overall responsibility for supplier performance and involves heavy collaboration with corporate supply chain leaders to ensure strategic alignment of key objectives and priorities.
Essential Functions:
Partners with the BU leaders and Supply Chain across the enterprise to achieve top level supplier performance (OTD / Quality / Cost / NPI) and objectives.
Utilizes the Global Approved Supplier List (ASL) to optimize value for their respective Segment and the enterprise, rationalize the existing supply base, and reduce supply risk.
Accountable and responsible for right-sizing the current WWD supply base including flawless transition of parts from one supplier to another. (or from Make to Buy)
Develops standard work for collecting and communicating supplier performance to corporate supply chain, business segmen members and other key stakeholders in an effort to mold overall supply chain strategies based on supplier performance.
Effectively interacts with key supplier executives to build long-term business relationships and drive supplier performance.
Implements and communicates standardized supply chain policies and practices as well as organizational structure across all areas of influence to improve efficiency and reduce costs throughout supply chain.
Uses financial analysis and modeling to understand business impacts of sourcing (e.g. make vs. buy) decisions – utilizes available ASL suppliers to leverage the size and scale of WWD across the supply network.
Ensures the sourcing and supply chain deliverables for all PLC projects (NPI / PTP) are delivered according to requirements and maintained throughout the full product lifecycle.
Accountable and responsible for improving delivery and quality performance for all ASL assigned suppliers by implementing rigorous root cause identification and problem solving processes within their given suppliers.
Accountable and responsible for contract execution, including documentation of requirements for all government contracts and commercial contracts (LTA’s, PSA’s, and all necessary addendum’s to existing agreements.)
Leads talent management initiatives within the BU supply chain team, supplier quality/development and PLC teams (organizational development, site reviews, development plans, succession planning, and performance management).
Maintains accurate supplier leadtimes in ERP systems, ensures suppliers receive accurate and reliable demand forecasts, and suppliers maintain sufficient capacity to cover all future production demands for both the BU and the enterprise.
Maintains all stocking levels, ABC compliance, and PFEP parameters within ERP systems. Provides the voice of the supply base within the SIOP and MPS planning processes for their respective BUs.
Accountable for management of Supply Chain related budgets to ensure targets are met.
Maintains a positive rapport with all levels of the organization to foster and promote a positive work environment, high levels of morale, and high member engagement.
Collaborate with all levels of the organization to ensure alignment of goals and progress towards them along with short and long-term needs and plans.
