About the role

As a Staff Embedded Cybersecurity Engineer at Plexus, you will be integral in developing a global cybersecurity strategy for products across a wide range of industries and at all phases of product development. You will also collaborate closely with other disciplines, including software, electrical, mechanical, systems engineering and others.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Regarded as a "go to" technical specialist, leader and mentor within their engineering discipline; and/or regarded as a cross-discipline leader and mentor for product development.
  • Serve as a cybersecurity technology, applications and product development subject matter expert.
  • Lead local continuous improvement activities associated with the embedded cybersecurity engineering discipline and/or project-level tools or processes.
  • Interface with external customers for project technical discussions, business development and proposal creation.
  • Monitor, understand and effectively communicate cybersecurity market needs and trends. Support the execution of internal cybersecurity projects.
  • Inform customer concept and technology selection along with development, and aid Plexus’ product development engineering services and manufacturing to comprehensively understand client’s needs.

Technical Qualifications

  • Working experience with cybersecurity threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, specifying security requirements, architectures, and security controls in accordance with medical device regulations.
  • Experience in creation, maintenance, and vulnerability analysis of an SBOM.
  • Experience with cybersecurity concepts like encryption ( AES, ECC ), signing (ECDSA, RSA ), Hash ( SHA-256 ), PKI, TPM, HSM, secure booting, network security, Secure updates, , etc.
  • Hands on experience working with Embedded software / ARM Microcontrollers (Sensors & Actuators).
  • Knowledge and experience developing software in embedded real-time operating systems such as QNX, FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, embedded Linux, etc.
  • Understanding of Object Oriented Design & Object Oriented Programming (OOD/OOP).

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Eight (8) years of product development experience is required, including five (5) years of hands-on experience with Cyber Security Compliance implementation or equivalent.
  • Intermediate Cross-Discipline Development Knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of Structured Design.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with team members and customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
