We’re actively seeking a talented Director, Business Process Improvement & Business Analysis to join our Investment Operations team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Director, Business Process Improvement & Business Analysis, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by leading a team of three analysts to:
- Ensure efficient and accurate Investment Operations
- Maintain Data Integrity
- Provide Business Analysis and support to our internal and external teams
How you’ll help move us forward:
- Synthesize and integrate data and analysis into a cohesive story that drives insights and supports business decisions and execution of our operations strategy.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to develop solutions to better support our growing investment activities.
- Embody a mindset of continuous improvement to identify enhancements of tools, processes and controls that can further facilitate and streamline investment operations.
- Work closely with functional process owners (Fixed Income, Derivatives and Reconciliations) to ensure valuable and robust solutions
- Develop a deep understanding of our systems architecture, integrations, manual touchpoints, data flows and downstream consumers to guide future decisions and process flows.
- Maintain vendor relationships with market data providers and ensure market and pricing data acquisition is efficient and effective.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with Front Office Investment Professionals, understanding their functions and needs
- Apply advanced business process and systems analysis skills and play the lead (or supporting) role on projects to reengineer and streamline business processes and leverage technology within the financial and operational areas in Pacific Life Investments and across the company.
- Validate operational data for accuracy, consistency and completeness
- Design, analyze, document, and provide specifications for business processes
- Identify and propose solutions for improving business processes to reduce errors and increase efficiency.
- Design controls that ensure company objectives are met
- Direct and/or collaborate with users in the design, testing, and implementation of the changes
- Provide Project Management for small scale projects, as requested
- Provide oversight for Investment Reporting within Operations to ensure reports provide accurate information to meet the business need and users have access to reports needed and eliminate obsolete reports
The experience you bring:
- At least 8 years of Investment Operations experience, preferably with several years of working with fixed income and derivative products and the related data and systems
- Excellent leadership skills , as well as written and verbal communication.
- Skilled at leading and managing people, developing them and helping them achieve positive business outcomes.
- Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to various audiences, including senior management.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- We’d like someone to come in with perspectives and opinions on how trade, security, market and other investment processes and data can flow between systems and users, but be flexible enough to collaborate to find optimal solutions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or similar field, or equivalent experience.
- Skilled at defining, collecting, identifying and documenting business processes for our technology teams to develop. Should be similarly knowledgeable and experienced with Software Development cycles, testing and signoffs
- Effective at ensuring data integrity, maintaining and developing reports and controls to ensure accurate, relevant and timely data.
- Familiarity with several of the following: Bloomberg AIM, EMSX, Data License & AP, SAP Business
