Job Description
- Eurofins PSS is looking for a proven technical leader to oversee experimental design, testing, analysis, and reporting for tobacco product sensory panels.
- The individual in this role will manage a team of sensory scientists and lab technicians to ensure testing is completed on time and according to the test design
- Testing will include descriptive, expert, and difference testing. Utilization of Compusense and/or related sensory software will be used for test programming
- Analyses may be performed using software such as R, XLStat, etc.
- This individual will recruit, train and monitor panelist performance for 5+ sensory panels of 100+ panelists to ensure quality of sensory data
- This position will work directly with client R&D, global sensory, marketing and quality stakeholders as a sensory subject matter expert to set project timelines and fulfill requests.
- This individual must be able to deliver clear insights through analyzing multiple/complex data sets and ensure adherence to client’s global panel performance standards
In addition to the technical responsibilities, as a leader, this individual must:
- Supervise others in performing client’s service requirements
- Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TAT
- Conduct semiannual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date for assigned employees, perform succession planning in preparation for growth
- Coach and develop individual and team to maximize performance
- Develop and implement operational improvements
- Perform and/or assign other duties as requested to ensure smooth operation of department
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree, but Master's or Doctoral Degree preferred, in Food Science, Sensory Science, Market Research, Statistics, or related science (i.e. Chemistry) required
- At least 5 years of related experience in sensory.
- At least 3 years in leadership
- Online Sensory Program Certificate is nice to have

- Position is full-time, Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM overtime as needed.
