About the role

Role Summary

Engineering Technologists And Technicians support engineers in the design, modification, and improvement of products/processes.

Main Tasks

  • Start-up and shutdown of equipment in accordance with procedures.
  • Change media in machines in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Change of material. Understands the different materials used in the plant.
  • Ensures Proper electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic connections for equipment.
  • Ensure product conformity to quality standard upon start up and during production. Can resolve product quality issues.
  • Perform machine functions related to change overs.
  • Document all machine setup and support recording of downtime.
  • Keeps the manufacturing supervisor advised of recurring problems existing in the production area.
  • Perform major mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment.
  • Identify product or process defects in product.
  • Performs duties as an operator, material handler, or other role when requested by manufacturing supervisor.
  • Practices good housekeeping techniques in keeping all areas of responsibility clean, organized, safe, and hazard free.
  • Perform major mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment.
  • Work effectively in both team settings and independently
  • Utilize maintenance software and computer-based tools and report downtime.
  • Apply troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve issues

Your Profile

Education:

  • High School Diploma, or GED

Experience:

  • 2 years' minimum experience working with manufacturing machine setup and processing within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience conducting root cause analysis and presenting alternative solutions for repairs and/or adjustments to correct problems.
  • Proven experience in mechanical repair with electrical knowledge, or as an electrician with strong mechanical skills
  • Industrial manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with shop tools and automated equipment at all levels

 

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, or similar
  • Must complete New Employee Orientation and Quality Systems Overview training in addition to any training identified by department management
  • Proven ability to make informed decisions to satisfy internal and external customers
  • Flexibility to change shifts based on business needs in the future

Preferred Skills & Education:

  • Vocational education/ training.
  • Sewing machine repair.
