We are seeking an onsite Principal Program Quality Engineer (PQE) to serve within the Shipboard Missiles team supporting Transition to Production. You'll develop and monitor quality metrics to drive proactive continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with integrated teams to further the success of the program. In this role, you will support transition to production. You will primarily engage our factories and suppliers that aid the Shipboard Missile portfolio, implement quality processes to reduce overall product lifecycle cost and risk.

The ideal candidate will have a dynamic mindset and the ability to influence peers and offer creative results to complex challenges that arise during production. The candidate will collaborate closely with all cross-functional teams including systems, electrical, mechanical, operations, supply chain, and systems integration and test to guarantee that mission goals and contractual requirements have been met.  

This position is an onsite role in McKinney, Texas.

What You will Do:

• Serve as a member of the Program team, ensuring successful program performance, deliver conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance to processes and procedures.

• Oversee integration and implementation of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment to quality and customer requirements per the program quality plan.

• Serve as a program quality liaison across customer organizations (Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and United States Government (USG)), as well as relevant factories and engineering labs as first responder for quality issues and concerns related to production products.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with program management team to define and implement quality improvement strategies, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and First Article Inspections (FAI)

• Review and approve changes to the technical data package, assign actions when necessary and complete actions in a timely manner when assigned. This includes but is not limited to:  Peer reviews, Engineering Review/Change Control Board (ERB/CCB) and/or Design reviews.

• Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.

• Monitor root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience.

• Working experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing process

• Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.

• Working experience leading teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.

• Experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
