Security Guard

Description

Secure Parking Systems (SPS) is looking for reliable Security Officers to oversee our parking lot operations in the Newark, NJ area. We are looking for a professional security guard to protect our premises, employee assets, and personnel entering/exiting the area. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions.

The position details include but are not limited to:

• Interacting with customers daily
• Conducting foot patrols regularly and consistently
• Monitoring employees and cars that park at the location
• Remain vigilant, alert and observant
• Operate and monitor all surveillance security systems/cameras within the Control Center in an efficient manner and in compliance with the operating procedures and best practice of the company
• Providing efficient and courteous radio and telephone answering service and dealing efficiently with all inquiries 
• Record all events, incidents and actions taken in a clear, legible, and accurate written format
• Maintain a secure system for providing data in accordance with the regulations  and to ensure the security of the control room and its equipment is  always maintained

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Remain vigilant, alert and observant throughout the entirety of your shift
• Valid SORA license
• Minimum one-year of security experience in the related field a plus
• Flexibility: capable of working various shifts based on operational needs (nights, overnights and weekends)
• Must be able to complete and pass the required guard training test
• Possess the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written with management
• The ability to work in all types of weather conditions including inclement weather
• Must have a valid US driver's License with at least 3 years of experience- approvals and final decision is subjected to our automobile insurance carrier's criteria

Shifts include: 6:00am - 2:00pm, 2:00pm - 10:00pm & 10:00pm - 6:00am (Days Off to Be Determined)

                                                                (3pm - 11pm Saturdays Required)

Compensation: $16.00 per hour
