Job Description
AECOM is seeking a talented Junior Architecture Designer for immediate employment in our Denver, CO office.
As an Architecture Designer you can expect to work with project managers and design teams to help develop all phases of design and construction drawings. Strong communication skills and aptitude for learning and growing as part of a multidisciplinary team is key to success. Active engagement and support of our collaborative and iterative design process is essential, along with the desire to seek innovative design solutions while providing unique perspectives on the built environment.

Our Buildings + Places practice includes architects, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism and planning (inclusive of landscape design) strategy + (workplace consulting, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory and cost and program management. The diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, and construction; creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Within our practice you can expect to work on a wide range of small to large projects in varied market sectors such as Science & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Commercial, Aerospace, Higher Education, Industrial and Process, Transportation, Aviation and Federal market sectors.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
• Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
• Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
• Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
• Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
• May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
• May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field plus two (2) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (BArch) or Bachelor of Science in Architecture + Master’s degree in Architecture with 3+ years of relevant experience in design, or demonstrated equivalency of experience
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit
- Experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks and Dynamo
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Enscape, Lumion, InDesign, Rhino or other visualization tools or rendering software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience creating architectural plans, elevations, sections details and specifications
- Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations
- Desire to be mentored and learn
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture
