Assoc Director, Corporate Affairs - Events
What you will do
Let’s do this! Let’s change the world! In this vital role the Associate Director, Events, will lead the strategic planning and delivery of Amgen’s corporate-level events, ensuring they are impactful, innovative, and aligned with corporate objectives. This role will oversee internal and external events, including leadership meetings, all-employee town halls, and special initiatives, to foster connection, alignment, and engagement across Amgen’s workforce and stakeholders. The Associate Director will manage event operations, logistics, and creative elements, ensuring excellence in delivery. Specifically, this individual will lead bi-annual meetings of Amgen’s Officers, annual meetings of Executive Directors and Officers, as well as select corporate sponsorships.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Strategy and Design
Develop and implement a strategic vision for internal and external events that aligns with Amgen’s goals and values.
Design events to inspire employees, engage stakeholders, and communicate business priorities.
Stay ahead of trends in virtual, hybrid, and in-person event planning to deliver cutting-edge experiences. Act as go-to resource for global Corporate Affairs team on event best practices.
Event Operations and Execution
Lead end-to-end planning and execution of events, including leadership meetings, all-employee town halls, and special initiatives.
Oversee budgets, logistics, and vendor management to ensure seamless delivery.
Partner with internal teams, including content and creative, to enhance the storytelling and visual experience of events.
Collaboration Across Teams
Work closely with senior leaders to ensure events reflect their vision and meet strategic objectives.
Partner with IT/IS to integrate technology solutions for virtual and hybrid events.
Collaborate with HR and Corporate Affairs to align events with key internal initiatives.
Measurement and Impact
Establish metrics to assess the success of events and implement improvements based on feedback.
Provide regular updates to leadership on event performance and outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 3 years of corporate communications experience
Or
Master’s degree and 7 years of corporate communications experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of corporate communications experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 12 years of corporate communications experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 14 years of corporate commun
