Summary of duties: Leads quantitative modeling through expanding our product and market coverage to address evolving client needs by researching, implementing, and rolling out new rates models. Provides analytical support through maintaining existing models and interacting with both BlackRock and Aladdin client portfolio managers, traders, and risk managers. Researches and develops quantitative financial models and tools across many different areas – derivatives pricing, risk calculations, scenario analysis and simulations, etc. – across all asset classes. Owns the technology platform that delivers those models to our internal partners and external clients, and their integration with Aladdin. Keeps track of latest trend in derivatives market. Applies a range of quantitative approaches and knowledge languages such as Python and C++. Leads cross-functional project partnering with engineering, operations, risk, portfolio management and compliance. Directs major cross-functional initiatives with effective prioritization and influence.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field. Ten (10) years of experience as a Financial Modeler, Quantitative Financial Analyst, or related role. Employer will also accept a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field, and eight (8) years of experience as a Financial Modeler, Quantitative Financial Analyst, or related role. Eight (8) years of experience with: stochastic modeling of financial derivatives; and stochastic calculus and option pricing using numerical methods including Monte-Carlo simulations and finite difference schemes. Six (6) years of experience with: interest rate derivatives, such as swap, swaptions, CMS spread options, midcurves, and modeling, such as short rate, LMM, and SOFR term structure model; programming experience in financial domain in Python and C++; and curve building.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $230,000 - $267,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
