Overview
Kimley-Horn has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated Waterfront & Ports Project Manager to join our growing surface water team in St. Petersburg, FL. The successful candidate specializes in Structural or Civil Engineering services.
Responsibilities
- You will have the autonomy to shape and grow your practice with clients in public and private market sectors, lead business development efforts, and leverage our existing local and national client base to expand our services
- Mentor, train, and grow young engineers and other staff who will support you.
- The primary responsibilities for this position will be to operate with integrity and sound business principals; helping develop the Waterfront and Ports practice vision, business planning and strategy; establish goals; build and maintain positive client relationships while serving them directly; have open communication with your partners and team; and lead and grow your practice
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field, required
- Professional licensure as a P.E. in Florida
- 8+ years of diversified mechanical engineering experience in a public or private sector waterfront and ports practice
- Marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, fees and budgets, and schedules
- History of providing technical design and planning in the areas of waterfront structures and marine environments
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
