Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) - Emergency at Providence Little Company of Mary in San Pedro, CA is expanding to better serve our community. This position is a full-time, leadership role that will mostly work Evening hours to support mid and night shifts.
Our Emergency Department serves as the sole emergency center in the peninsula of the South Bay and cares for an extremely diverse and rapidly growing population. Certified as a Primary Stroke Center (PSC), Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP), and with close connection to both a Sub-Acute Care Center and a broad psychiatric program ensures that you will be providing patient care to our most in need.
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is responsible for assisting the nurse manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit. In collaboration with the nurse manager, assumes 24/7 responsibility for the management and staffing of the unit. The ANM manages and coordinates the unit, directs and supervises functions and activities, interprets policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate. The scope of responsibility spans all aspects of nursing care. The ANM maintains clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required.

Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, within 3 years of accepting position.
- upon hire: California Registered Nurse License (Vendor Managed).
- upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
- 3 years Clinical experience in an acute care hospital or Acute Rehabilitation facility.
Preferred qualifications:
- upon hire: Specialty certification – CCRN
- upon hire: Specialty certification - CEN.
- Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.
- Leadership experience.
