THE COMMERCIAL TEAM Our strong project management teams, dedicated in-house engineering resources and skilled union field staff work together seamlessly to deliver commercial projects that are as innovative and unique as the clients who build them. ABOUT THE ROLEAt Cupertino Electric, the Project Executive is responsible for a book of work within a division for a specific area, customer, or region. As an executive within a division at Cupertino Electric, our PXs are expected to work with other PXs and their Division Director to plan for and execute the projects that will achieve the Division’s operating goals and objectives. Responsibilities include five primary areas: Project Development, Customer Relationships, People Development, Financial & Risk Management and Safety.
- Ownership of financial outcome and execution of a book of work.
- Lead and develop high-performance project teams across multiple and/or large, complex projects.
- Make strategic decisions and recommendations aimed at enhancing relationships with clients and maximizing profitability of book of work.
- Ensure strict adherence to all client, company, and project policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ownership, oversight and direction for construction management teams, contract administration, scheduling review, change order management, revenue forecasting, divisional initiatives and quality assurance activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities of both company and subcontractor personnel on assigned book of work.
- Authorize and approve all purchase requisitions, change requests, etc., within designated signing authority.
- Take responsibility for achieving financial objectives by monitoring and contributing to each stage of project development.
- Implement and enforce company safety protocols, ensuring adherence by all direct reporting employees.
- Offer mentorship and training to facilitate employee growth and development with team.
- Lead projects and project teams through all phases from qualification to closeout, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and contractual agreements while prioritizing safety and professionalism.
- Work closely with Superintendents and Production teams to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
- Proactively identify project risks and potential issues, developing and executing recovery action plans as necessary.
- Ownership of financials, tracking budget variances, job costs, productivity, and reporting on financial performance for book of work.
- Skillfully negotiate with internal and external project stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with customers and end-user owners, nurturing and expanding customer and subcontractor relationships while actively seeking and qualifying new opportunities.
- Be a cultural ambassador for CEI. Engage in company functions and cultivate relationships within the organization. Participate in corporate objectives to support the growth and improvement of CEI.
