About the Role:

As a Senior Technical Writer, you’ll lead documentation efforts for your assigned product area to deliver a best-in-class content experience for our highly technical audiences. You’ll set the example for best practices in user-centered technical writing, work with SMEs to develop a deep understanding of complex products, and play a key role in defining content delivery strategy.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and develop high-quality, user-focused content that helps users get the most out of our products and elevates our product documentation set.

  • Develop deep product knowledge through researching, partnering with SMEs, using the product, and leveraging your innate sense of curiosity and desire to figure things out.

  • Define, refine, and own the documentation set for your assigned product area, including managing delivery timelines and output.

  • Play a key operational role in architecting the pipeline for delivering user-facing content to various sources, including taxonomy-driven, context-sensitive help.

  • Help expand and refine our writing team’s standards, processes, tooling, and best practices, identifying improvements and helping to implement them at scale.

  • Mentor other writers and participate in collaborative content reviews.

  • Advocate for the customer in all aspects of your job and be a documentation evangelist.

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years of experience in technical writing.

  • Strong knowledge of DITA/XML and structured authoring.

  • Demonstrated understanding of topic-based authoring and reusable information architecture.

  • Experience with a docs-as-code model or experience using Git for documentation source control.

  • Excellent writing skills, great sentence structure, and ability to write with a conversational yet professional voice.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop a thoughtful information hierarchy and deliver content components that contribute to a cohesive documentation set.

  • A user-centric focus on what the customer needs, not what the system does.

  • Experience exploring a customer’s pain points and addressing their needs through documentation.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineers on a technical level to integrate help content into a product.

  • Strong cross-functional communication skills that enable you to drive projects with numerous stakeholders.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with tight deadlines and high expectations.

  • Exceptional audience analysis, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong grasp of UX fundamentals and content strategy, and experience working with UX designers and researchers.

  • Portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate your excellent writing skills and ability to make complex/technical subjects easy to comprehend for an intended audience.

Bonus Points:

  • Cybersecurity experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience using a Component Content Management System (CCMS).
