How you will make history here…
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Asset Strategy, the Cooker, Hydrostatic Sterilizer and related Thermal Processes Technical Manager is responsible for implementing and driving standardization of reliability best practices for cookers, sterilizers, and ancillary equipment across the network.
This position will be responsible for developing short- and long-term asset strategies, driving improvement in specific equipment reliability throughout the life of the assets, developing local expertise/capability, and implementing maintenance and operational standards, inclusive of spare parts inventory requirements. Additionally, this role will help to develop and support periodic system inspections, build a planned downtime forecast, manage communications, develop local optimization programs, and establish capital plans for each applicable site.
What you will do…
• Serve as the technical owner for cookers, sterilizers and thermal process equipment throughout the network.
• Coach and develop local cooker, sterilizer and thermal process equipment expertise.
• Development and execution of the corporate preventative maintenance program for specific equipment. The role includes working with each plant maintenance and engineering team to develop and implement maintenance protocols for the particular equipment infrastructure, agree on program metrics and targets, identify projects in alignment with Asset Care practices and business objectives, ensure program consistency and track progress of defined metrics.
• Performing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses on defined equipment to ensure that best practice preventative and predictive maintenance is being applied.
• Build and manage a universal spare parts inventory.
• Coach and develop operating resources in the proper care and operation of the equipment, provide technical expertise and guidance.
• Develop training modules to create a standard knowledge base and operator qualification program to ensure consistent operation of equipment across the network.
• Provide inspections, emergency support and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Train Operators and Maintenance personnel in a classroom setting with the facilitation of hands-on exercises and simulations.
• Develop long term rebuild / replacement plans aligning with capital priorities.
• Initiate / foster OEM partnerships regarding support, upgrades and development
Who you will work with…
You will work with the plants (plant manager, maintenance, engineering) who utilize cookers, sterilizers and thermal process equipment and OEM partners.
What you bring to the table (must have) …
• Bachelor’s degree
• 6 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, including experience with field service tech support.
It would be great to have…
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
• In-depth knowledge of cookers and sterilizers
• Experience developing and implementing training programs
• Demonstrated experience successfully leading projects
• Experience and passion for introducing new techniques (i.e. change agent)
• Strong leadership, communication, facilitation and interpersonal ski
