We are seeking a results-driven Senior Manager of Project Engineering to oversee the team executing customer engineering contracts following system design. This role focuses on managing detailed engineering activities, vendor coordination, and technical alignment to ensure successful delivery of warehouse automation systems. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in project execution and proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams, with a focus on delivering high-quality, on-time solutions that meet customer and contractual requirements.

 

Your role in our team

  • You will lead the execution phase of automation engineering contracts, from final design handoff through system installation and customer acceptance.
  • You will oversee firm engineering efforts across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines, ensuring alignment to contract scope and system performance requirements.
  • You will cooordinate technical alignment with stakeholders across engineering and project teams, escalating broader trade-offs to leadership.
  • You will manage third-party vendors and contract engineering partners, driving quality, timeliness, and accountability.
  • You will apply and reinforce established execution standards, documentation practices, and design validation procedures within the project engineering team.
  • You will proactively identify technical risks and drive resolution efforts across cross-functional teams.
  • You will develop and manage engineering execution schedules, aligning task ownership and deliverables with project milestones.
  • You will provide input into resource planning by highlighting team capacity, skill requirements, and upcoming needs to departmental leadership.
  • You will partner with solution design and product engineering teams to close immediate design gaps and feedback lessons learned into ongoing projects.
  • You will serve as the technical escalation point for complex integration issues during system commissioning and early life support.
  • You will support continuous improvement by participating in post-mortem reviews and sharing best practices across the engineering team.

 

Your profile

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred but not required).
  • You have 5–7+ years of experience in warehouse automation, material handling, or capital equipment industries.
  • You have 3–5+ years in engineering leadership or technical project management roles.
  • You hav experience supervising cross-functional engineering teams and coordinating with external design or build partners.
  • You have familiarity with system design tools and engineering documentation platforms.
  • You have working knowledge of safety, compliance, and industry standards (UL, CE, NEC, etc.).
  • You have strong understanding of engineering deliverables required for successful project execution: drawings, BOMs, schematics, control plans, etc.
  • You are willing and able to travel up to 30%.
