Team Overview

Luminar Technologies is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to validate the function of Luminar AD software for the world’s best long-range perception solution. In this role, you will lead, design, and execute functional tests to validate the integration of our software and hardware products in both internal and external development vehicle platforms. Through your hands-on work, you will be on the front lines of all critical V&V and integration activities that drive our development. You will work closely with the Systems and Software engineering teams to translate and map automotive requirements into robust end-to-end product validation requirements and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute V&V tests for our perception software and hardware
• Create test cases and document test results in Jama
• Facilitate review and approval of test plans and test strategy
• Support HIL Buildup and execute Test Cases on HIL and on the vehicle.
• Identify, triage, and track software issues through their entire lifecycle (includes support of cross-functional root cause analysis)
• Author software release documentation for our internal and external customer base
• Author and maintain testing documentation to adhere to ASPICE, Fusa, and ISO 26262 standards
• Collaborate with internal and external TPMs to inform all parties of software performance and testing status
• Escalate critical defects with in-depth analysis to engineering leadership
• Identify product/functionality gaps and collaborate with internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, or a related field
• 6+ years of automotive industry experience
• Experience evaluating automotive sensor performance
• Experience validating software for automotive compliance (ISO 26262, ASPICE)
• Experience designing functional tests for autonomy software
• Experience leading and creating technical product validation activities
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to motivate others, drive collaboration, and quickly resolve conflicts
• Enjoy working within a dynamic and continuously evolving environment
• Able to work successfully in cross-functional teams, especially across organizational and geographical boundaries
