About the Role

We are seeking a Registration Specialist to join our team at North Hospital. This role is essential in ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate registration processes while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register patients and manage check-in/check-out processes
  • Schedule appointments and procedures
  • Handle pool messages and phone calls
  • Obtain and verify financial and demographic information for accurate billing and clinical outcomes
  • Interview patients for medical information and explain charges and policies
  • Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems; collect necessary payments
  • Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately

Preferred Knowledge

  • Cerner
  • Passport
  • IDX

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Prefer relevant experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) preferred
  • Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
