Software Development Engineer, Health & Wellness (Health Tech)

This is a unique opportunity to join a small, high-impact team working on AI agents for health initiatives. You will collaborate with experts across domains to develop AI solutions to customers. You'll have the chance to work on projects that could significantly impact how individuals manage their daily health and long-term wellness goals.

Technically, you'll work on developing production-grade mobile applications, creating backend data processing services, developing AI agent infrastructure, and integrating AI models into user-facing applications. You'll have the chance to solve complex engineering challenges while working alongside AI scientists and healthcare experts.

In this early-stage initiative, you'll have significant influence on what we build and how we build it. This is an excellent opportunity for high-judgment engineers to demonstrate impact and make key decisions.

Key job responsibilities
Develop and implement AI-powered health features for mobile applications.

Build backend services to support AI agent functionalities, e.g. memory management and data persistence for agents.

Implement and optimize AI agents using frameworks like LangGraph.

Build AWS-native solutions leveraging services like Bedrock, Lambda, ECS, and DynamoDB.


A day in the life
You'll work with a cross-disciplinary team to plan and deliver AI-driven health and wellness experiences. You'll shape product features, user experience, and team processes for rapid iteration. Expect to challenge conventional approaches and dive deep into customer problems in this evolving field.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
