Job Summary:

The Japanese Corporate Banking (JCB) Client Services Analyst Senior’s primary responsibility is to play a quality assurance role for all JCB banking transactions Client Service Team performs.  Each and every transaction should be reviewed and approved by this role.  You will also be directly involved in loan and deposit transactions and client inquiry investigations and problem shooting for more complex transactions.  As a JCB Client Services Analyst Senior, you will contribute to the growth of JCB and not only maximize overall client satisfaction but also ensure the highest quality of service provided in a timely and accurate fashion.  You will play a critical role of quality assurance to protect the client fund by acting as the first line of defense protecting the bank’s capital, liquidity, and reputation. JCB Client Services Analyst Senior performs the essential function of QA as well as direct representative for more complex deals within the Client Services Department (CSD) of Japanese Corporate Banking (JCB), offering a wide range of services such as loans, deposit, investment, cash management and foreign exchange (FX), and play a critical role to differentiate MUFG’s JCB itself from US local competitors.  This role also leads ad-hoc projects within the team or across departments to improve the department’s effectiveness and efficiency

Primary Responsibilities include:   

           

Perform Quality Assurance of CSD Transaction (60%):

  • Monitor maturing loans, deposits and foreign exchange (FX) transactions, and ensure those are acted on Client Service Representatives in a timely and accurate fashion and review and approve credit and deposit transactions proactively reaching out to the clients to ensure the client’s funding, saving and forex needs are properly addressed each day
  • Review and approve all credit, forex and deposit transactions the Client Service Representatives (CSR) originate, ensuring each deal meeting guidelines set for each customer and meeting the approved conditions and credit capacity; the product this role approves include but not limited to loans, trade finance deals, standby letter of credit, time deposit, forex exchange contracts
  • This role also screens and reviews all email communications by the CSR to ensure that responses and any materials sent are complete and accurate
  • Review any suspicious account activities identified by the CSR and instruct the CSR for actions to take and escalate if needed
  • Meet with the client to brief on the services CSD provides and support the relationship manager to market JCB’s full service and dedicated client service resources

Direct involvement in customer inquiries for more complex deals and cases (10%):

  • For complex deals and investigations, actively reach out to the client and other internal partners to complete transactions and resolve investigations

Lead Inter-department coordination to address the client request and inquiries and contribute to department management through leading trainings, projects (30%):

  • Maintain full understanding of the Bank's internal policies and procedures relevant to credit policies (ACP/ACRP), transaction banking products, acquire knowledge and keep abreast of overall banking operation and products as well as the financial market conditions;
  • Assist and support CSR Work with Transaction Banking Client delivery team to find solutions with the client to address any complex issues in a timely fashion
  • Participate in departmental and JCB cross unit projects;
  • Lead Kaizen activity to improve accuracy and efficiency of operations and prepare and update and review CSD operation manuals and procedures, if any;
  • Review any audit materials and investigation by CSR other QA ad-hoc roles as assigne
