About the role

Responsible for physical plant, property and equipment maintenance. Assist in establishing plant policies and procedures. Responsible for plant security and food defense. Fosters a well-trained and motivated staff.

 

Schedule:

Friday – Sunday or Saturday – Monday 6pm – 6am

Reports to:

Maintenance Support Supervisor

Your responsibilities

• Perform plant maintenance within company policies and procedures
• Perform maintenance tasks for support equipment including Forklifts, Air Handling, Nitrogen System, Doors, Sprinkler System, air compressors, security system etc.
• Remain flexible to support production equipment and maintenance when needed
• Maintain licensing and training for plant equipment and tasks
• Help to manage the various specialty contractors
• Maintain a clean and safe plant with sensitivity to audits
• Follow plant policies and procedures
• Responsible for plant security and food defense
• Cultivate a well-trained and working relationship within the department

• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all departments
• Confer with other department heads to ensure communication between quality, maintenance, production, and shipping
• Other duties as assigned

The experience we're looking for

• Strong knowledge in packaging and powder processing is a plus
• An understanding of maintenance best practices, safety, quality, cost, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance is a plus
• Strong analytical and people skills are necessary in this position
• Frequently required to stand and walk
• Frequently required to climb ladders and/or stairs
• Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, and/or controls
• Frequently required to talk and/or listen to maintain communications. Use of hand-held radio when necessary
• Reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch
• Frequently lift and/or move 10-35lbs, occasionally lift and/or move 50lbs
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
