What You Will Achieve 

Working with a dynamic team of procurement experts, you will play an important role in negotiating contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies. You will facilitate category management, purchase goods and services for ongoing operations and manage corporate services. You will be responsible for achieving year-on- year improvement in cost/value, quality, service, process and/or innovation. You will partner with business owners, operating units and enabling functions to develop and implement transformational business and supplier strategies that drive increased value in a financially constrained environment.  

As a Director, you are a subject matter expert and leverage your knowledge of industry, customer requirements and general business environment to adapt and implement strategic actions for the division. Your ability to interpret your division’s strategy will establish business priorities that support and set long-term direction for the division. Your managerial skills will help us manage and lead people, technological and financial resources within the division. 

It is your problem-solving ability and leadership that will make it possible for customers and patients to receive the medicines they need, when they need them. 

How You Will Achieve It 

  • Set objectives and manage multiple projects using your knowledge of industry, customer requirements and general business environment to implement strategic actions for your division or business unit. 

  • Manage and lead people, technological and financial resources within the Global Business Unit/Global Operating Unit. 

  • Lead Global Procurement’s annual opportunity assessment for the next fiscal year’s goal setting, providing processes, tools and templates for collecting and summarizing input for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Ensure that appropriate analytics solutions are developed through a customer centric approach to understanding the adapting needs of Global Procurement teams.

  • Manage spend analysis (including supplier diversity spend), savings tracking and associated metrics and reports/dashboards/scorecards.

  • Lead the strategic procurement category management and develop category strategy  and plans to continuously improve through innovative solutions the value, quality and service received by Pfizer within the assigned spend area. 

  • Guide teams focused on developing Global category strategies as well as  implementing category strategies locally across a portfolio of categories supporting Pfizer’s commercial efforts. 

  • Use Procurement and Finance systems, associated Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools for opportunity analysis, issue resolution and performance monitoring. 

  • Provide coaching and support to ensure that direct reports initiate, develop and prepare a high quality Global Procurement Opportunity Analysis for their assigned spend areas and projects in a timely manner. 

  • Work with Sourcing colleagues to understand requirements to help improve the delivery of procurement processes and tools. 

  • Ensure adherence to Pfizer’s global policy, procedures and systems. 

  • Provide customer relationship management to key stakeholders. 

  • Drive innovative thinking and encourage teams to take calculated risk. 

  • Support Pfizer's Diversity and Inclusion objectives as applicable to strategic category management within Procurement. 

Qualifications 

Must-Have 

  • Bachelor’s Degree  and 10+ years of  experience.

  • People Management experience. 

  • Displays strategic and innovative thinking. 

  • Expertise in developing procurement and sourcing strategy. 

  • Good interpersonal and team management skills. 

Nice-to-Have 

  • Master’s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures. 

  • Establishes teams by building morale, open dialogue and shared vision. 

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management CPSM or equivalent accreditation.
