 Job Summary:

 The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a part-time Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Therapist (Instructor) at the Johnson Depression Center (JDC) at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO. This role includes 0.3 FTE (12 hours per week) for an Intensive Outpatient Program therapist. The Intensive Outpatient Program Therapist will be responsible for providing group therapy in the Intensive Outpatient Program specializing in mood disorders. Additional opportunities and FTE at other sites within the Department of Psychiatry may be available for interested and qualified applicants. As a part time role, candidates would be able to maintain or establish an external private clinical practice, should they wish to do so.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care in the Johnson Depression Center Intensive Outpatient Program, including group therapy utilizing evidenced based practices including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
• Screen for suicidal ideation and other safety concerns and document clinical interactions in a timely fashion to support clinic operations
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Examples of Work Performed:

• Provides multiculturally sensitive behavior health assessment, triage, care management, and group psychotherapy
• Collaborate with other mental health faculty and staff in the provision of mental health and wellness care
• Provide clinical documentation for insurance authorization and peer to peer reviews for denials. Chart patient visits using an electronic medical record (EPIC)
• Assist in discharge planning, including identifying community placement
• Develop programmatic benchmarks and outcomes of effectiveness
• Participate in quality and performance assessment projects
• Participate in the development of and administration of group programs including skills development, experiential activities, and mindfulness
• Participate in other programs and service development.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite at the Johnson Depression Center in Aurora, Colorado.
