Cognosante is seeking to fill a Senior Federal Financial Systems Generalist role in support of the Joint Program Management Office (JPMO)for the Department of Homeland Security. The financial systems modernization (FSM) Joint Program Management Office (JPMO) was established to manage, from a portfolio perspective, all FSM programs across DHS. The FMS JPMO is responsible for governance and successful execution, maintenance scheduling, and risk management for all DHS FSM programs and projects. FSM JPMO functions include information technology (IT) management, business transformation, portfolio management, acquisition and program management, and financial management
What is the position?
Provide ongoing support for client operations; modernization; innovation; implementation and adoption of system and business best practices; compliance changes; and process improvements.
What will I get to do?
Serve as a subject matter expert in federal financial management, providing consultative advice and guidance to our Client and their Customers.
Support delivery operations and system upgrades.
Support End-Users: Provide quality client support by answering questions, identifying possible solutions to issues, documenting resolutions, and communicating guidance to end users.
Perform In-Depth Analysis: Use your federal financial expertise to better understanding the business needs of our client, troubleshoot challenging solutions that include software issues, data issues, maintenance, and system configuration.
Gather requirements (business, functional and technical) using collaborative, face-to-face workshops with the customers, stakeholders and the development team.
Perform business process reviews by reviewing current to-be processes and mapping them to future state processes.
Participate in client stakeholder meetings.
Develop and update system designs and training documentation.
Support testing activities including developing test cases and executing testing.
Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of our management and the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them.
Drive adoption of the designed processes and solution use with stakeholders.
Expert in Federal Financial systems Reporting.
What qualifications do I need?
8+ years of relevant experience supporting federal financial management (e.g. establishing financial processes and procedures, implementing accounting and financial policies, and short and long term financial planning).
Federal case accounting expertise.
Financial and accounting software implementation experience as systems integrator or user of the system (e.g. assessing change impact, configuration, workflows, data reconciliation).
Customer/Client Management.
Mentorship/coaching of team members, peer review, and assist with learning client business processes.
Experience and comfort facilitating meetings, training sessions, and group presentations.
String analytical problem-solving skills.
Critical/Analytical Thinking.
Communication (Oral/Written).

Compensation
$91,242.70 - $150,555.93The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities
