POSITION TITLE: Research Assistant I
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated Research/Bioinformatics Assistant to support transcriptomics data analysis projects.
Work under general supervision, independently and in collaboration with others perform research and conduct a wide variety of standard laboratory procedures for projects; analyze data and interpret results; investigate, troubleshoot, and modify methods and procedures as necessary; may assist in designing experiments; may provide routine equipment maintenance as well as guidance/training to other department personnel.
RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:
- Will perform single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and spatial transcriptomics (Visium HD) data analysis.
- May also analyze Xenium data, using Seurat and RStudio, as well as Python or CDIAM software.
- In addition, the Assistant will help with bulk RNA-seq data analysis.
- Assistance may be given for unusual problems and normally reviewed for application of sound professional judgement.
- May provide interpretation and initial analysis of results.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained.
- Requires 1-3 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 0-2 years experience required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment.

COMPENSATION: The expected hiring range for this position is $20.07 to $25.06 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
