About the role
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for driving infrastructure automation, CI/CD best practices, system reliability, monitoring, and cost optimization for critical business systems, primarily leveraging Microsoft Azure. This role requires a strategic mindset, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stay abreast of emerging DevOps practices and technologies.
Main tasks and responsibilities

• Infrastructure Automation & Management:
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize robust infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions (e.g., Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, Ansible) for repeatable and reliable system deployments.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources across all environments.
• CI/CD Pipeline Engineering:
  • Design, build, and manage efficient and reliable CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Integrate automated testing, deployment, and rollback strategies to ensure high-quality, continuous releases.

• Cloud Platform Operations:
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (primarily Microsoft Azure) for deployments, scaling, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Support hybrid and multi-cloud setups, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud workloads.
• Monitoring, Logging & Incident Management:
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
  • Actively troubleshoot and resolve incidents, collaborating closely with development and operations teams to minimize downtime.
• Security and Compliance:
  • Implement robust security measures following DevSecOps principles and ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and recommend improvements to mitigate risks throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Cost Optimization:
  • Monitor and analyse cloud resource utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies for efficient resource consumption.
  • Provide recommendations and implement solutions to optimize cloud expenditure while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with development teams, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate with partners and vendors for incident resolution, problem management, and project execution.
• Evaluation of Emerging Technologies:
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and emerging DevOps, cloud, automation, and containerization technologies.
  • Proactively assess and recommend new tools and methods to enhance our infrastructure, automation, scalability, and reliability.

Your Profile

• Degree in (business) informatics or similar.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or similar are a plus.
• HashiCorp certifications (e.g., Terraform Associate, Vault Associate) are highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), container orchestration (Kubernetes), or security (e.g., CISSP
