Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Position Summary: This position is in the Office of the Attorney General within the Victim Compensantion Victim Services Unit in Tallahassee, Florida.
Pay: $33,742 - $35,689 Annually
Qualifications:
Three years of secretarial or clerical work experience; or
A high school diploma or its equivalent and 1 year of secretarial/administrative experience.
College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience; or
Vocational/technical training in an area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.
The Work You Will Do: The incumbent in this position serves as secretarial support in the Bureau of Victim Compensation and plays an integral role in the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the program through daily activities in the claims process. Duties associated include, but not limited to the following:
- Process incoming correspondence accurately and in accordance with procedures.
- This includes receiving, date-stamping, sorting, and distributing mail (physical, postal, and electronic) to appropriate staff; scanning documents for transmittal into the IN-Queue system; and reviewing IN-Queue task sheets to determine relevance and delegation to inventory at the rate in which the correspondence was received.
- Perform criminal history background checks for victims and applicants seeking benefits using the Criminal Justice Information System, at the rate in which the correspondence was received and with no margin of error.
- Review new applications, expense documentation, and related correspondence for completeness, and perform the data entry of the document information into the applicable claims management system, at the rate in which the correspondence was received and with no margin of error.
- Correctly transfers documents into the applicable document imaging systems (OnBase/VANext) immediately upon completion of data entry; record action log notes to document receipt when necessary; update IN-Queue task sheets with applicable information; and process or reassign IN-Queue task sheets in accordance with procedures.
- Achieve quantitative measurements of aptitude in data entry of no less than 100 new claims and 100 expenses monthly.
- Complete special projects as requested and finalize directives within established time frames.
Note: This position may require extended hours and/or travel outside of the work site.
